Palaykar takes U-turn diversion on Mhadei diversion

Now perhaps it’s turn of ministers of Goa Forward to continue the legacy of U turns. And the issue is not simple. Diversion of Goa’s lifeline Mhadei.



Water Resources Minister Vinod Palayekar favoured out-of-court settlement, which Goa has opposed throughout.

And within hours, he took a U turn and opposed out-of-court settlement. Watch this report.

Palayekar called it a personal view on Mhadei issue and supported Karnataka’s demand to have out-of-court settlement.

That too to save the public money on the court matter. This is what he said on the camera. Listen to this.

There will be no compromise or out of court settlement on Mhadei Case with Karnataka. This is the official stand of my department. I will discuss the matter with the Chief Minister. Karnataka on one hand is asking for out of court settlement and on other hand they are playing from behind.  Their witnesses have been well exposed in Tribunal at New Delhi and our legal team led by ASG Atmaram Nadkarni is doing a wonderful job.
