Opposition parties AAP, NCP and the Congress have opposed the doubling of railway track from Hospet in Karnataka to Vasco.

The opposition feels that project, if carried out, will pose danger to the residents living near the track.

The opposition parties feel that the state government should not allow the South Western Railways to go ahead with this project.

They stated that this would lead to demolition of several houses along the track in Goa.

NCP President Jose Philip D’Souza said that the government should first think of rehabilitating the affected families with such a project.
