Not us, says National Highway Authority

The National Highway Authority of India has sent a surprising letter to a farmer from Navelim.



It says they are not constructing the western bypass on national highway 17. It is built by Goa’s Public Works Department. 


onically,  the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has put up a board at the site of the western bypass work mentioning the work of construction of Margao western national highway bypass to NH-17. Acting president


NavelimXetkranchoekvottEleterioCarneiro said one of their members had written to the NHAI about their grievances.


However, the NHAI wrote back stating that the work is being carried out by PWD Goa and all queries should be directed to the Goa PWD. Eleterio has demanded that PWD minister should come to Navelim and address the farmers and clear all doubts before the farming season.


The society has sought proper demarcation of the fields while the work is being carried out.
