No pharmacy for 24 hrs from 29 May midnight

he All India Organization of Chemists and Druggists has dismissed the proposal of selling medicines through E-portal by the Central Health and Family Welfare Ministry.



They say the proposal is impracticable. Chemists and druggists all over Indian are going on one day strike on the 30th of May to protest against the proposal.


President of Chemists and Druggists Association of Goa Prasad Tamba along with secretary Lyndon D’Silva wholesalers chairman Albert D’Sa, DCGA treasurer Amit Kamat, Retailers chairman Mackenzie D’Costa addressed media in Panaji on Friday.


They said there is no proper net connectivity to implement the E-portal proposal .


Also the government has no pharma policy. The pharmacies will remain shut from the 29th midnight till 30th midnight of this month.


Tamba said that as per the proposal the customers will have to shell out an additional amount of 200 rupees per prescription.
