No candidate in Morlem OBC ward as it has no OBC living

his is strange but true: Ward number 3 of Morle panchayat in Sattari is reserved for OBC but there is not a single person belonging to the OBC.
Therefore, nobody has filed any nomination for the ward. Locals say that the authorities have not conducted a survey to find out the composition of the ward.
The state panchayat polls are slated for the 11th of June. Final date for withdrawals is 29th of May. On Saturday, 1243 nominations, including dummy nominations were rejected leaving a total of 6,397 candidates in fray. 32 candidates have already been declared elected as unopposed in 186 panchayats.
Locals say that they do not want any outsider foisted on them as a panch and are willing to sacrifice development for that.
