New huts outside airport create threat of bird strike

The new settlement of labourers outside the Dabolim airport has created a possible threat to birds that could hit the flights.

This barren land was cleared of settlement and garbage by the authorities earlier.

The Low Flying Zone near the Airport in Davolim has become dangerous for flights entering and leaving the Airport.

The land in the Low Flying zone was previously cleared of garbage and slums by the government to ensure that there was proliferation of birds in the area.

Now a group of laborers has encroached and started staying there. This has led to garbage being generated and thrown around the place attracting birds.
