Lucky Seven; already a disaster?

11 Sep 2017 08:05 PM

The grounded vessel Lucky 7 is still firmly entrenched on Miramar beach. The latest attempt to pull it out on Monday was an ill-conceived and unplanned disaster.

The rope did not even reach the tug. But the owners are very openly not concerned and say they have appointed a salvager from abroad.

In fact there are more bouncers than technical people on site. Why are bouncers needed to tow a boat?

Either the government is being blinded by this or there are other reasons why they are not booking the owners for  an environmental disaster in the making. Or why are they not informing the public on what is happening with the Lucky 7?

The attempt to refloat and pull out the boat was so badly planned that the rope did not even reach the tugs. And so the tugs went off even without trying to pull out the vessel.

They say that there is no effect on the beach. But to even a layman that does not appear so.

The beach has been affected and it is still early days. And now this vessel will be there for some more days.

So the effect will obviously get worse. Look at the beach. And the owners who are responsible for this assault on Miramar beach do not seem to have any regrets.

When Goa 365 approached Kanda the brother of the owner Gopal Kanda he point blank refused to accept any responsibility for the boat becoming grounded on the beach.

In fact there are more Kanda bouncers on the beach then technical people.
