Liquor traders threaten to-be-formed Govt to block NH if outlets are closed

Liquor traders of Goa have threatened to block the national highways if no solution is found to save their outlets next to the highways



They have decided to approach the new government after 11th March to approach the Supreme Court with a review petition and amend the Goa Excise Rules.

 The meeting of liquor traders was held in Madgao on Friday.

The traders also suggested to approach all the  would be  40 MLAs  to seek their  support  in  bringing ordinance and save the  liquor  outlets across the state and national  highway in Goa. 

BJP leader and liquor trader Dattaprasad Naik also threatened of state-wide agitation by blocking the roads.

 Lawyer Amit Palekar said  thatthere are two  options to  save the liquor outlets-- one by amending the  Excise  ACT and second by approaching the  Supreme Court court with the review petition.
