Hazardous waste in Cucolim Industrial Estate polluting water bodies

Cuncolim Industrial Estate is ranked third in the industrial estates in Goa. However it is facing several problems including power shortage and frequent failures.
But the most prominent problem in the industrial estate is the existing hazardous waste.
These huge dumps of this hazardous waste are lying here in the industrial estate from last 7-8 years.
It is causing water pollution and also inviting various diseases. According to the Cuncolim Municipality vice chairperson Shashank Desai, despite assurances from several leaders like former MLA Rajan Naik, this waste has not been removed from the site.
He demands that these dumps should be removed as early as possible.
