Goans do not want casinos; casino lobby controls government

AICC Secretary Girish Chodankar has said that the people of Goa do not want casinos. They had supported the stand taken by Congress party during assembly election to close down casinos in Goa.

He said several families from  goa have been destroyed because of casinos. Girish also criticized the Goa Forward Party’s statement that all offshore casinos should be moved onto land.

Girish said the present casino lobby has become so strong it is able to control even the government. 

He said that Goans supported the Congress party’s stand on casinos. Hence the party was able to increase its tally to 17 from six.
