Health facilities for the people from outside Goa will not be free any more either at the Goa Medical College hospital or the district hospitals by November.

Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has constituted a committee to work out the modalities. But it would be free for Goans.

The Health Minister told Goa 365 that the committee of officials headed by the Joint Secretary of Health,Sunil Masurkar would look into the modalities and submit the report to him by 25th of October.

The GMC hospital is majorly overloaded as it has to deal with not only general ailments of the local populace but also people from surrounding states. The treatment is good and also free.

The hospital is not able to cope with the load not only on the hospital infrastructure but also the exchequer. There are regular complaints about facilities breaking down due to the strain.
