GF opposes any restriction on beef, Cong questions BJP’s silence

Goa Forward as well as the Congress have strongly opposed the thought of banning beef in Goa.

Incidentally, Goa Forward is the important alliance partner of the coalition government in Goa, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party.

And some of the BJP leaders are promoting the thought of banning beef.

The Common Minimum Programme of the coalition government is still not ready.

But Goa Forward has made it amply clear that no way they would allow any ban or even restriction on any type of meat, including beef.

The Congress on Monday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of not taking a stand on the central government notification sale of cattle for slaughter.

However, it also admitted that it had not written to the Centre protesting against the notification, but promised to do so.

The South Goa district collector  Swapnil Naik  said he was not aware that there was any issue and had not been approached  any agency about it still.
