Major Relief To The Vellim Villagers, Govt withdraws the revision petition

In a major relief to the Vellim villagers, the state government on Tuesday filed an application before the sessions court to withdraw the revision petition in the 2012 Vellim Church attack case.
The previous government had challenged the order of judicial magistrate of dropping the sections of attempt to murder.
This incident had happened on 25th February 2012 when the locals had confrontation with the police after the police had entered Church premises at late night.
The
JMFC had dropped the sections 307 and 333 of the IPC in November last year.
The then state government had filed a revision petition in session’s court against this order.
