upping the ante at sada ,locals hit back

The controversy over the Sarvajanik Ganesh venue at Sada, Vasco is threatening to snowball into a major controversy with locals threatening that the demolition of the structure could lead to a law and order problem.

  Locals and councilors putting up a show of strength on Friday stressing that the structure was 10 years old and its demolition would hurt religious sentiments. They also said that the demolition move was politically motivated.

The Mormugao MLA Milind Naik has been pushing for the Sarvajanik Ganesh venue to be demolished alleging that it is being used for illegal activities.

Directions had come to the Mormugao Municipal Council from the collectorate based on a complaint asking them to demolish the structure.
