Panaji may soon have a permanent venue for all the traditional fairs and ferries. Panaji Mayor Surendra Furtado says he will write to the Chief Minister for a Utility Service Centre on the Parade Ground in Campal.

He says this will help a great deal to eradicate the congestion in the capital city.

The festivals like the traditional ashtami fair were held on the Mondovi promenade. These fairs do not have a permanent place.

Also some events were held earlier on the Campal ground, but last year some NGOs had gone against the events in the NGT for alleged violation of the CRZ.

Now the mayor says there should be a permanent solution to this issue of fairs in the capital city.
