Houses of Mopa residents demolished illegally, allege locals

They allege that the demolition is entirely politically motivated.

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar had handed over letters to the Mopa project affected farmers on Friday morning.

But immediately on Friday evening itself the locals allege these two houses belonging to the Talkatkar family and Salgaonkar family in Shimechi Advan Mopa were demolished by authorities without intimating the owners.

The local Congress block members who visited the affected farmers have called this act of demolition dictatorial by nature and have demanded resignation of MGP Minister and local MLA Babu Azgaonkar saying that he has not taken care of the interests of his people.
