Taleigao PDA necessary for planning: Vijai

Town and Country Planning Minister Vijai Sardesai has justified his government’s plan to divide the North Goa Planning and Development Authority and creating a separate one for Taleigao.

He has also blamed the section of media of creating unnecessary controversy over Porvorim.

It is a fact known to every Goan that a separate Taleigao PDA would be created to benefit Babush Monseratte.

The former town and country planning minister, who had resigned in 2006 for anti-Goa Regional Plan,  was roped into Goa Forward so that he doesn’t contest against Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar in Panaji by-election.

But Vijai says a separate PDA for Taleigao is thought of because the constituency is developing very fast.

Vijai however blasted the section of media for unnecessarily creating controversy by spreading news that Porvorim would also be brought under the new PDAs the Town and Country Planning Board plans to create.

He was speaking to the media before inaugurating the Saras 2017 handicraft exhibition on Friday. It would be open for 12 days at Campal, till 7th of November.
