The State Election Commission will implement the Supreme Court order of reserving the 17 wards only after seeking clarification from the high court.

The next hearing of the case is scheduled on Monday, 5th of June.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday had stayed the high court order of de-reserving 17 wards in 11 panchayats and making it general.

But the Election Commission has still not issued the order. It’s in a process of legal consultation and is planning to file an application before the high court. Because the cases regarding these matters are still on in the high court.

But nodal officer Durgaprasad says the election process will continue.

Durga Prasad told Goa 365 about the ongoing preparations for the elections. He said that all postal ballots have to be submitted by 5 in the evening before polls end.
