Cong creates ruckus, stalls House proceedings on officer-circular issue

The first day of the Assembly session was marked with frequent adjournments and consistent stalling of the proceedings by the opposition Congress.

It ended with a walk out in the afternoon.

The opposition wanted the government to withdraw the order which bans government officials from visiting MLAs’ houses.

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has now convened a meeting of all MLAs on Wednesday morning to discuss the issue.

No Question Hour, no zero hour and not even condolence motions.

Congress MLAs did not allow any business in the House. Speaker dismissed their demand of adjournment motion to discuss the issue.

CM assured to discuss it after the Question Hour.

But Congress remained adamant. And they staged a walkout in the afternoon.

But senior Congressman Pratapsing Rane did not agree with them. He stayed behind and also spoke during the discussion.
