PWD Minister Sudin Dhavlikar said that the1000 odd water tanks that were procured by the PWD department several years ago and now dumped at Verna reservoir will be distributed to needy persons.

He said that this will be done only after a vigilance inquiry into why and how those tanks were bought was completed.

Dhavlikar said that the department is unable to distribute these tanks since a vigilance inquiry into the procurement of these tanks is going on.

He said that these tanks were purchased under non plan works that was taken up without the permission of the finance department and once the vigilance inquiry was completed the tanks will then be distributed to needy people.
