Centre to ban LED fishing, bull trawling in state: fisheries minister

The Union Government will ban fishing using LED and bull trawling. An advisory would be out regarding this.



The Fisheries Minister Vinod Palyekar told Goa 365 from New Delhi after his meeting with Union Minister Radha Mohan Singh.

Palyekar said that union government had also agreed to the states demand that it give around 80 Crore rupees to improve fisheries infrastructure. 

The state will also get to develop the  infrastructure  of four fish landing centres of Malim Chapora ,Cortalim and Cutbona at an estimated cost of 8418 Lakhs rupees with 75% Central Financial Assistance.

The centre will also fully  fund scheme to conduct the catch assessment survey on Marine and Inland Fisheries to compute the estimates
