Carry proof of ‘Goan’ residence, or else you’ll be charged in GMC

If you are intending to go to Goa Medical College for treatment, please carry your valid documents of proof of residence in Goa. Or else you will be charged as a resident from outside Goa.



From November end. However in-case of emergencies, no such discrimination will be done.

This is what Health Minister Vishwajit Rane told media on Saturday on his plans regarding streamlining the systems in the GMC.

He said they’ll further bifurcate the queues into one of Goan resident patients and patients from outside Goa.

The Minister also informed that along with housekeeping the catering contracts of the GMC will be outsourced.

The Health Minister also informed about the various new initiatives that will be implemented in the GMC.

Motorcycle ambulances will be procured and commissioned by November end, Cardiac ambulances will be commissioned for service in next 2 months.

He also added that foundation stone of Super Specialty Blocks and the first installment of Regional Cancer Centre will be in place by December.

The Minister also informed that the process of recruitments in various Government departments will start by December.
