Goa’s liberation struggle had many heroes.

One such patriot freedom fighter who suffered a lot even after Goa’s liberation was Mohan Ranade.

The story of this living legend will now be screened at the International Film Festival of India next week.

A documentary on the life and struggle of Mohan Ranade ‘Zuzari’ made by filmmaker Mandar Talaulikar is selected in the Goa section of IFFI this year.

The docu-drama film is made with complete Goan cast and crew and is a production of Directorate of Art & Culture.

Director Talaulikar said this documentary involved a lot of research for creating the period and architecture.

Zuzari will be screened alongside 2 other non feature films and one feature film in Goa section in 48th edition of iffi.

Mandar Talaulikar says Goan filmmakers have potential but they do not get encouragement specially for producing non features.

He wants to convert the subject of this documentary into a hindi feature film.

Talaulikar now plans to send this docu-drama for screening at various film festivals.
