Violence in schools continues, 2 more assaults in Vasco & Madgao

ncidents of violence in the educational institutes are rising day by day. After two such incidents in Ponda and Madgao last week, this week started with two incidents on one day – in Vasco and and Madgao.

 One in the higher secondary and second in the school. Both involving minor boys.

Ganapati Harijan is a student of Govt. Higher Secondary schools in Baina in Vasco.

He was assaulted by one of his schoolmate during the recess on Monday morning. With a bleeding nose and injury near the eye, he was taken to a private clinic for first aid. This was an assault over a minor personal issue.

 In another similar incident in Madgao, a student of Anjuman High School Rumdamoll Davorlim was assaulted in the school campus by another student.

The student was beaten up in the class room in front of all his teachers, students and his own father. And to top it all, the father and his two sons were threatened that they would come home and take care of them.

The father has filed a police complaint at the Maina Kudtari Police Station.
