A Panaji-based fishing trawler capsized in river Zuari on Thursday.

All crew members on board were rescued by fishermen and Central Industrial Security Force personnel.

The CISF personnel were posted Goa Shipyard Limited.

The fishermen community in Khariwado has raised serious concern over the wreckages of several sunken ships,  including that of a Pakistani trawler, Taiwanese fishing trawler and a Portuguese warship.

No serious efforts have been made to remove the wreckages; as a result, several fishing trawlers and canoes have suffered damage in the past.

Some of the Khariwado fishermen said that these wrecks of sunken vessels pose a serious threat to their boats.
