Sale of liquor within 220 Mtrs from Highway at Naveli, panchayat conducts inspection

The Navelim Village Panchayat carried out an inspection after the villagers had complained to the Panchayat regarding the illegal sale of liquor at a Bar and Restaurant in Naveli within the 220 meters distance from the highway.

Complainants said that they have also given a letter to the commissioner of excise regarding this issue.

Locals say this bar and restaurant is just 20-25 meters away from the main road which is not permissible by the Supreme Court directives.

According to them, illegal construction was also carried out at the site.

The Village Panchayat reacted to this complaint and conducted an inspection of the site.

Panchayat authorities will now send a notice to the owner of the restaurant.
