Red alert withdrawn, Warning for seafarers & fishermen still remains

The MET department has withdrawn the red alert of extremely heavy rainfall on Monday.



But has predicted heavy to moderate rainfall for the next 48 hours. The seafarers and fishermen are warned no not venture into deep sea.

 MET department had earlier issued a red alert on Sunday of extremely heavy rainfall in the 48 hours.

Now the red alert has been withdrawn however the orange alert of heavy rain still remains.

The capital city also witnessed heavy rainfall throughout the day. Sankhali has received the highest 4.65 inches rainfall in 24 hours from Sunday to Monday. Valpoi has received the overall highest rainfall from June onwards which is 125 inches. After the heavy downpour, the gates of

Heavy rainfall was also observed in many places including Cuncolim where there was electricity disruption after a tree collapsed on the electric pole.

The road was later cleared by the Fire brigade on Monday morning.
