Nobody can take law in own hands, says CM

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has categorically stated that he would not allow anybody to take the law into their own hands.

He also said that he had no issue with curtailing the use of red beacons for VIPs on the lines of the action taken by the Centre.

Parrikar was speaking to the media at the ministers block on the issue of the statement by the right wing Vishwa Hindu Parishad that they would enforce a beef ban in the state even without the government permission or sanction.

The Narendra Modi-led government took a cabinet decision on wednesday banning the red beacon for all VIPs and exempting only the posts of the President, vice President, prime minister, the chief justice of India  and the Lok Sabha speaker from the ban.
