NH17 widening : Land losers not happy with Govt compensation

Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha has assured that no houses will be demolished in her constituency for widening of National Highway 17.
The land losers, however, are not happy with the compensation offered by the government.
Local MLA Alina Saldanha was present at the collectorate building at the request of the land losers.
She said people would be happy as none of their houses is going to be demolished.
The land losers say they have no say in the matter. They say they were told it would be a four lane highway but the new plan shows it is going to a six-lane highway.
The land losers say that they were promised the market rate compensation but the government is offering below the market rate compensation.
