Thank God for small mercies. Even though it was ultimately that MPT tugs had to pull the Lucky 7 into the Mandovi channel, the unlucky vessel is out at last.

The vessel ran aground more than 70 days back at Miramar beach and had till Thursday morning resisted numerous attempts to shift it out.

The owner plans to start its business in Mandovi as soon as it’s repaired.

As of now the inspection is on with the divers checking out the damage before the vessel is pulled to the dry docks at Jaigad in Ratnagiri.

The vessel was pulled out of Miramar after two MPT tugs arrived at around 9 in the morning. The whole operation was completed at around 10.

However, Gopal Kanda the owner promised to be back in the Mandovi as soon as the repairs are completed as he has already paid the state government and renewed the licenses.

The Kanda’s have two casino licenses.
