The agriculturists in Goa may soon have better days. Some of them who had given up on agriculture and farming have already started going back to their traditional businesses since the government has started rolling out various schemes and providing machineries on subsidized prices.

The brighter side of it is increase in Khajan lands under cultivation.

These khaajan lands in Mayem were lying barren for decades after the farmers had turned a blind eye towards this occupation since it was not economically feasible for the farmers.

However, now the individuals from farmers’ community have returned to this profession and they say the total khaajan land under cultivation has increased by manifolds.

The local panchayat has also shown interest in giving the farmers various facilities under the different schemes.

The local sarpanch has appealed to the farmers to take up the farming activities and has assured help for the farmer’s community.
