Health Awareness programs organized in Margao.

People should go for early detection of vector borne diseases. People should alos take precautions and see that there is no water allowed to stagnate and also ensure that blood test are taken in case of any incidents of fever.

This was the advice given at a health awareness program was organized at Navelim Panchayat Hall on Monday.

The awareness program was inaugurated by Local MLA Luizinho Faleiro. Dr Nandini Korgoankar explained the gathering how to protect themselves from Vector-borne diseases like malaria, chikungunya and other diseases.

She also said from  January to May 2017 there were  85 dengue cases,  24 chikungunya and around 775  cases of malaria reported.

Margao BJP Mandal also held a drive to popularize the Sukanya Samruddhi yojana for the girl child.

Commencing the drive at Hospicio Hospital in Margao Dr Shekar Salker said that he has appealed to Margao and Fatorda BJP Mandals to adopt ten girls.

He said that this scheme is also in sync with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s  Beti Bachao Beti Padhao slogan.
