HC to hear Merces panchayat only after it clears garbage from highway

The High Court on Tuesday directed the Merces panchayat to first clear the garbage along the Panaji - Old Goa bypass.
The court said that only after that she would hear Merces Panchayat only after the debris and garbage was cleared.
The division bench comprising of Justice Nitin Jamar and Justice Nutan Sardessai were hearing the Contempt petition filed by activist Lawyer Aires Rodrigues.
The court observed that the panchayat should have acted after the notice was issued on 23rd of October even as it expressed its concern over the inaction of the orders despite various orders issued by the court.
