Govt gives stress on Swachch Bharat, inaugurates two Sewage Treatment Plants

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has appealed to the people of Vasco to adhere to Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan by giving importance to maintaining cleanliness.



  He has assured the residents of port town all the possible help in maintaining standards of cleanliness and also for taking vital steps in making the town open defecation free.  

CM Parrikar was speaking at the inauguration function of 20 MLD Sewage Treatment plant at Katem Baina on the occasion of Dassro on Saturday.

PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar, Local MLAs Carlos Almeida and Milind Naik were present for the function. Sewerage connections for the houses in nearby areas will be given soon. 

This plant is made up using advanced technologies at a cost of nearly 40 crores. The works of this project were undertaken by Sewerage and Infrastructural Development Corporation of Goa Limited.

 A similar 1 MLD plant with latest vaccum sewer system was inaugurated on eve of dassro at Durbhat by Chief Minister Parrikar in presence of minister Dhavalikar.

CM Parrikar has suggested an idea of erecting more such projects of smaller sizes.
