Faulty road engineering makes National Highway 17 B a dangerous road

The National Highway 17 B road connecting Verna to Mormugao Port has become a death trap for motorists.

Many innocent people have lost their lives at regular intervals on this road because of faulty road engineering. The road gets waterlogged in monsoons

Way back, the state highway was converted to national highway and was considered as the model highway road in Goa.

This road was constructed one and half decades ago by the Border Road Organization.

Ironically, the National Highway Authority of India officials have confirmed that this NH17 B road lacks proper engineering geometry as several crucial aspects had been overlooked.

As such, this road has suddenly become a death trap for motorists with innocent people losing their lives.

NHAI project director Premanand Dodamani too admitted that this water logging near NSD gate and at Vales Junction is a serious problem.
