Coconut prices shoot up, production declines

Vendors say there is a shortage of Goan coconuts.  Construction activity has taken its toll on coconut production.

Some attribute the shortage of to non-availability of pluckers.

Production of coconuts is not sufficient to meet the needs of Goans for coconuts.

 The production is declining and the reasons could be diseases,   lesser production, non-availability of pluckers, et cetera.
