Coast Guards carry out a daredevil rescue operation

The Goa Unit of Indian Cost Guards carried out a rescue operation on Saturday immediately after getting information about a mid-ocean medical emergency.



The quick response of the Coastguards team helped rescue a 75-year-old German national.

According to the information, 75-year-old Konrad Anton suffered cardiac arrest on board a German Cruise ship carrying 1855 passengers.

After receiving the information the Coast Guards sent a helicopter and a fast interceptor boat and launched immediate MEDEVAC operations.

The coast guard chopper winched the patient from cruise vessel close to the north of Redi Port in Maharashtra.

He was then carried to Panaji, dropped at Miramar and sent to a private Hospital in Donapaula.
