CCP Mayor to act against Mandovi casinos for illegal Advts

He says casinos are advertising either without NOCs or paying taxes.

He is also upset over the government not consulting the CCP about the carnival preparations as well as developmental works being undertaken in the capital city.

The mayor promised to take action againsterring parties on the advertisements and expressed his confidence that if his government came into power they would get rid of the casinos from mandovi River.

Furtado was the Congress candidate in the recent by-poll after the then Panaji MLA Manohar Parrikar was elevated as the Defence Minister.   

The mayor said that the government did not take the local body into confidence while carrying out  development  in the city,including the work being carried out at the historic Azad Maidan as the Defence Minister.
