Canacona flood victims to get relief even for infrastructure loss

Government has decided to give one time relief to the flood-affected farmers, including for the infrastructure loss, besides the crop loss.



 Agriculture minister Vijai Sardesai said the chief minister has told him to give a proposal in this regard. Altogether 115 cases of various kind of loss have been reported so far.

 People of Khotigao, Gaodongri and Poinguin got severely affected on Saturday due to sudden rise in the water level of Talpona river.

Besides paddy fields, plantations as well as pump houses and retaining walls got affected.

A team of officials led by Goa Forward leaders Mohandas Lolayekar and Prashant Naik visited the areas and submitted a report to Vijai Sardesai.
