Beware: Night time blood pressure fluctuations in type 2 diabetic patients can have long term harmful effects on brain, heart and kidneys. In fact, this can potentially damage your organs irreparably.

Despite susegad lifestyle, there are high incidents of stroke among Goans as compared to the residents of neighbouring Sindhudurg  district.

Dr Sagar Redkar of Redkar Hospital has conducted a 2 year study on 1,500 patients, 1000 of these patients are from Malwan and Reddi in Maharashtra while the remaining 500 are from Goa.

Dr Sagar Redkar’s research study on Nocturnal blood pressure fluctuations in type two diabetic patients was selected in best five research publications in the  Asia Pacific Society of clinical Cardiology conference held in July-August in Singapore.

The study also considered  the effects of obstructive sleep apnea in slow progression of cardio and cerebrovascular events.
