Around 1200 more liquor outlets out of the 2200 affected outlets may immediately get relief from the Supreme Court verdict on banning sale of liquor.

The All Goa Liquor Traders Association has claimed that Government of Goa has agreed carry out surveys of distance of liquor shops from highways by approachable roads instead of aerial surveys.

Around 3210 liquor shops and bars across the state had to face closure after the Supreme Court verdict, however, few outlets had got relief after the distance was decreased from 500 meters to 220 meters in certain areas. Now the liquor traders claim Govt has taken yet another step to give them little more relief.

Dattaprasad has also claimed that PWD is in process of denotifying certain state highways which would mean in relief to more liquor outlets in the municipal towns.
