68th Vanamahotsava Celebration held in the City

Panaji Mayor Surendra Furtado has appealed to the government to grant more funds to plant more trees.



He also requested funds to trim the big trees that pose danger along the roads. 1000 different types of saplings were planted at the Goa College of Home Science campus in Panaji to mark the 68th Vanamahotsava.

The Goa College of Home Science at Campal in association with the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Rotary Club had organized the Vanamohatsava program on Friday.

Principal Secretary of Forest Dr Ranbir Singh was the chief guest while Panjim Mayor Surendra Furtardo was the guest of honour.

Dr Ranbir exhorted people to plant more and more trees to save the environment.

The Panaji Mayor appealed to the government to provide funds to go green and plant more trees.


A program was also organized in this regard at the campus.
