Only 18% GST on almost 81% per cent items

The Goods and Services Tax was finally rolled out on Friday midnight.Under the new GST regime, 81 per cent of the items will be taxed below 18 percent. This is the message that was given by officials on the heels of the launch of the GST in the Parliament by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a massive advertising blitz.



The Union Information and Broadcasting ministry held an awareness meet for media presided over by the Union Minister of Ayush, Shripad Naik.

The keynote speaker was GST Commissioner, K Anpazhakan who spoke emphasizing on GST as one indirect tax that will make India as one unified market. 

The GST Commisionerate Goa also had a function on GST along with the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry at chambers building.

Present were the commissioner of Customs, R Manohar, GST Commissioner, K Anpazhakan, Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry president, Sandip Bhandare  and prominent businessmen, Shrinivas Dempo of the Dempo Group, businessman Blaze Costabir and other officials of the GST commiserate and Customs.
