Police to introduce new scheme to control traffic violations

Though the police issues more 4000 challan on a daily basis the accident rate has not decreased. Now the Goa Traffic Police has decided to introduce the Traffic Sentinel Scheme.



This scheme will encourage citizens to report traffic violations and ensure active participation of the public in assisting traffic police in their duties. Under this scheme the volunteers can register on a whatsapp number 7875756110.

The  DIG Muktesh Chandar  said that this is a part of community policing and citizens will play a major role in creating road safety awareness amongst various sections of road users.

The traffic sentinel scheme has been introduced keeping in mind prosecuting traffic violators in a bid to instill traffic sense among road users. After registration whoever send photos or videos of traffic violators will be awarded points and prizes.
