The High Court has refused to stay the framing of charges by the Trial Court against journalist Tarun Tejpal in in the infamous case of raping a journalist in Goa.

But, the High Court has stayed the trial proceedings after framing of charges till further order. The State has to file its reply by 1st November. Same day is the next hearing.

While the defense argued that Tejpal was innocent and this would be proven soon, hopefully at the High Court level itself, the prosecution alleged that the defense is trying to delay the trial by filing this petition even though Supreme Court has directed that this trial has to be completed in one year.

Tejpal, of Tehelka stands accused of raping a journalist during the event at a five star, the defense alleges that there is no evidence like CCTV footage to show the same.
